The environment that we live in - meaning our immediate surrounding, vary - depending on where we are in a given moment of time.
Therefore our environment is ever changing and we must constantly make adjustments as needed, to ensure the best possible environment or circumstances that we find ourselves surrounded by.
An environment is a space... be it our home, where we work, where we play, shop, engage with society, etc... In essence, it is our community or the environment of which we live and breath each and every day of our lives upon this planet in.
Therefore, as individuals... we are able to create the type of environment for our lives - through using our individual choice, to then add to the whole. What determines the overall environment of a given situation - is the ability of those making individual choices to affect others in the near surroundings - ultimately creating the environment.
Thus, creating a space, be it our homes, community, etc.. into an environment or community - that is acceptable for all to enjoy.
What kind of an environment then, can we say - that we actually help to create? An environment is a space... be it our home, where we work, how and where we play... for our choice of recreation or entertainment. Our environments are created, by those of us - who occupy that space.
How does a choice or action by one individual occupying the same space or territory - affect you and your quality of life within the same environment?
As we observe our communities as one environment, we can easily take note of the compilation of individual choices by choice - that help us all to create an acceptable and even enjoyable environment to live in.
An environment then, can actually take on the elements and characteristics of those who act and make choices within the environment - those choices that are compatible and acceptable within the whole.
In order to maintain a positive environment, in any situation - each individual may choose to comply or be courteous and even obedient to specific requests asked, rules made up - or laws that are designated by those within a specific area or environment. The choice is ours.
What just really bugs you and what rules must be complied with by everyone... can be made laws to ensure a nice environment? When we observe our surroundings - we will notice that there are reminders everywhere of how we are to behave in society in order to maintain an orderly environment for everyone. Unfortunately, there are always a few... that think they are the exception to many of these.
Rules create order out of chaos or individual preferences of personal action.
"No man is an Island" is a phrase that is used to remind one another - that what we do and how we act - affects all those in the near vicinity of another. It can be those close in physical proximity or it can also be those that are close to us emotionally, that affect and have effect on our total environment.
What kinds of an environment then, can we say that we actually help to create? An environment is a space... be it our home and town, where we work, how and where we play... for our choice of social interaction, recreation, education, etc...
The environment that we have created in any given space - has everything to do with those individuals that actually occupy that very space or environment.
YOu make an interesting comparison between "rules" and what "just bugs you". Usually the rules, like you stated, are to maintain order. Sometimes, though, it seems as if rules are born out of social norms, which often come from things that one day just bugged someone. The cool thing about an having an environment to yourself is that YOu are the creator of those rules or social norms. But when you share, it is always nice to make sure you are considerate of those around you, and you would hope that they would extend the same courtesy. The sharing of space takes time though, and that time varies. Sometimes things seem smooth until something happens that disrupts the harmony. When this happens, compromises can be made in order to thwart chaos. This is the time when either a new rule is made, or we let go of that thing that just bugs us. Some within a shared environment find this an easy process, while others have to take an extensive period to adjust. Life is that way all the time. However, if the environment is poisoned, or we are unable to share our space because of an unrelenting conflict , there is enough space out there to move on. I guess we just have to ask ourselves if we've given it a chance, if we've fought to maintain order, and have we observed the adjustment within the environment with new, unclouded eyes...
ReplyDeleteExcellent points. In regards to our environments being creative spaces, it is interesting how everything we say or do leaves an imprint/residue/seeds that have enormous creative power. NOTHING returns to us void...
